A golden statue of a naked Donald Trump is on display at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, at one of the busiest intersections connecting two of the Parliament's buildings, and is scheduled to stay until Thursday. Named Orange Plague, the 8.5-foot sculpture shows the US president holding justice scales and a long golf club, its ball made to look like the world, while sitting on the shoulders of a smaller, clothed man. Text on the plinth reads: "I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back."
This really frosts me. Thank goodness the legend on the plinth is in English, should there be any doubt about the intended target audience of this "satirical" statue.
I think there should be a swift and painful consequence for this crude stunt.
What’s happening right now in the UK is one of the scariest examples of a country purposely sabotaging itself in the name of politics and power. The left is pulling out all the stops and every trick in the book to import as many young, foreign men as humanly possible. The left is clearly looking for new voters, supporters, and budding street activists to help them fight the patriotic countrymen who just want their country and culture back.

A couple of new videos are making the rounds right now, showing how the UK government is bringing these men into the country under police protection and under the cover of darkness.

They’re literally getting a private police escort to invade the country. If this wasn’t on video, it’d be almost impossible to believe… almost.

It’s a stream of never-ending buses, filled with foreigners.

Holy Moly! Nobody Expected What Just Happened in Brazil. – PJ Media...

Holy Moly! Nobody Expected What Just Happened in Brazil. – PJ Media (Sarah Anderson)

Folks, this is nothing short of amazing. For the last year leading up to the presidential elections in Brazil, the little socialist dictator Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been leading the polls, and while that lead has tightened in recent months, it still showed that Lula would likely get more votes than his closest competitor, Flávio Bolsonaro.

Well, the polls were wrong. As I write this around 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday night, 99% of the reporting is in, and Flávio came out on top, with 47.24% compared to Lula's 44.91%.

It's close, but it's a far better outcome than anyone predicted. Early in the night, it looked as if Flávio could win the election outright. He had something like 51% of the vote, and a candidate needs 50% to win without a runoff, but the more conservative states reported faster, and that number came down a bit. So the race will, indeed, lead to a runoff on October 25, but it's looking very likely that Flávio will win, and Brazil will turn to the right, just as numerous other Central and South American countries have done over the last few years.

That would be huge for any number of reasons. Donald Trump and Marco Rubio will have a new ally in the region — one that will likely join the Shield of the Americas and help fight the cartels and other criminal groups that plague the Americas. It will also be a huge economic win — Brazil has the largest economy in Latin America. Best of all, it will isolate the few remaining socialists in the region, such as Mexico's Claudia Sheinbaum. And the pressure on Cuba and Nicaragua will also likely grow.

Conservative strength in "down ballot" races gives me confidence that this result will hold.

Again with the polls, though, per Ms Anderson's lead paragraph.

20 or 30 years ago books by conservative authors routinely topped the bestseller lists, and were routinely called a "surprise bestseller" by the surprised media. Mark Levine, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity. . . Rush Limbaugh used to regularly joke about this on his radio show.

Now polls are doing the same thing.

Regardless, this is indeed very good news, pending, from Brazil.

I sort of wonder if voters worldwide are seeing America ascendant, asserting masculine, conservative leadership on the world stage, as compared to Europe, the lair of globalists and the like, overrun and burning, dissolving in chaos. If so, it's a good thing. (I do have some hope from some corners of Europe, even so.)

Depending upon where you get your news about unfolding events in the Middle East, you probably have seen varying degrees of hysteria that the region is falling apart and about to fall into a full-scale war that will send oil to levels we have never witnessed.

The is a pretty thorough review of the present moment, for internet standards. Patterson surveys the Russia/Ukraine mess, and the accelerating deterioration of Iran, but mostly the situation in western Saudi Arabia involving the Houthis.

. . . Ukraine is carrying out strikes that weaken the much larger invader to their east, and it's hard to blame them for doing it. They're trying to win a war and reclaim land stolen by the Russians. In so doing, however, they've hurt Russia enough that the net exporter of both oil and refined fuels like gasoline and diesel is no longer supplying the world market. They are worried about not having enough fuel themselves to get through another Russian winter, so they're keeping what energy capabilities remaining for themselves. That has sent oil and fuel prices skyward as much as anything going on in the Gulf.

However, the two events that took place, both being remedied in their own way, were a jolt to the system, and it'll take a bit for the market to even itself back out. One of those incidents was a drone strike on a pumping station on the western half of Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline. The strikes originated from Iran-backed militias in Iraq, and it has temporarily taken the pipeline, responsible for around seven million barrels a day of crude bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, offline.

The second event is unfolding in real time. In Yemen, one of the countries that borders the other waterway chokehold in the region, the al-Mandeb Strait leading to the Red Sea, the Houthis were surrounded by multiple armed forces in the center of the country, but exploited a weakness in the Saudi Arabian line to the southwest, and made a run for it through the mountains until they reached flat terrain on the coast of the Strait. The Houthis made short work of Mokha, and even took a couple of the channel islands in the Strait itself.

The report contains a large number of tweets and clips from the region.

Many in the American media invested in Trump failure with regards to the Iran war are maintaining the illusion that Iran hasn't really lost anything as far as their military industrial complex, and that they are rebuilding much quicker than ever and will be good as new, free to fulfill a life of religious fulfillment soon enough, to quote Leslie Nielsen's Dr. Rumack in Airplane!

The Kill Box:

As for the Houthi adventure, early in the week, the last remaining functional Iranian terror proxy group, and their IRGC advisors, were getting their heads handed to them by the Yemeni armed forces.

But then, the Saudis' contingent failed to hold their southwest line, and the Houthis made a run for it. Before the Yemeni forces could react, Mokha and a couple islands had fallen, and everyone already against the war with Iran started the 'all is lost' routine. They assumed that the al-Mandeb Strait had essentially fallen, and that no oil would move at all, and Iran finally had the upper hand.

This obviously was not a great development, but I did not believe for a second that it was the strategic victory for the Houthis, and by extension, Iran, as was reported. Why?

The conditions around Sana'a, where Yemeni forces were systematically taking over former Houthi territory and wiping them out had not changed one bit. Yes, some of the Houthis were temporarily out of harm's way. But where did that leave them? Their backs to the sea, mountains in front of them, and flat terrain that offer very little places to hide. They still have no air power, limited munitions, even though they picked up some of the U.S.-made vehicles the Saudis left behind, but no reinforcements, and no one in Iran coming with the cavalry. It seemed to me all weekend that they were sitting ducks in a defenseless position. Turns out my hunch was right.

[viedeo]

While Saudi forces were regrouping and standing up, the Yemeni forces also reoriented, and resumed the fight against the Houthis now that they were in the 'Kill Box' along the coast.

30 hours without another significant Houthi strike. Why? They're getting creamed.

Patterson sums up:

Oil speculation gets twitchy when uncertainty is introduced, but while exactly no one is happy about gas or diesel prices, me included as a Californian, perspective is important. First, at least as far as the Middle East goes, the instability is temporary. The underlying death throes of the Iranian regime are ongoing, and at some point, the life will leave them. No regime can withstand systemic economic collapse like Iran is experiencing.

I cannot hazard a guess as to when or if the Russia-Ukraine war will get to the point where both sides can't afford to take any more damage and agree to end the fighting. But what I can offer you is how the oil spike right now compares to other crises in history compared to today's dollars.

The left wing media here is totally invested in the awfulness and failure of Donald Trump. Our local paper ran a political cartoon Sunday showing Hegseth getting his battlefield strategic advice from George Custer. But as St. Reagan said in another context, "it just isn't so."

The Telegraph writes that the leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will meet in Cardiff...

Embedded Tweet

BREAKING:
The Telegraph writes that the leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will meet in Cardiff tomorrow sign a deal on starting cooperation breaking up the UK.

They will demand the right to independence referendum, or in the case of Northern Ireland, on the right to become part of Ireland.

After Plaid Cymru routed Labour in the last Welsh election, separatist parties are now for the first time in power in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at the same time.

The three first minister will also meet in Cardiff with Mary Louise McDonald, the President of Sinn Féin and leader of the opposition in Ireland.

The new drive for independence referendums comes after UK PM Andy Burnham spoke about what’s needed for a new independence referendum in Scotland and made a parallel to the Good Friday Agreement mechanism in Ireland which requires the UK government to consider a referendum in Northern Ireland if public opinion clearly changes.

Previous UK PMs had completely shut the door on a new independence referendum in Scotland, saying that the failed independence referendum in 2014 had closed that issue for decades.

If Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland were to leave the United Kingdom, leaving only England, the remaining country's population would decrease by 15.5% and its GDP would decrease by 13.5% compared to the current total United Kingdom figures.

It would also create a number of geopolitical and geoeconomic dilemmas:

1. London would lose the physical home of the UK’s independent nuclear deterrent.

The UK's entire fleet of nuclear-armed submarines is permanently stationed at HM Naval Base Clyde on Scotland's west coast.

There are no alternative deep-water ports in England that are geographically, politically or logistically suited to house nuclear submarines and their warheads within the foreseeable future.

2. Losing control of the GIUK Gap.

Geographically, Scotland provides the UK with naval and aerial positioning to guard the North Atlantic and the so-called GIUK Gap (Greenland-Iceland-United Kingdom).

It’s a vital maritime choke point for tracking Russian submarine activity entering the Atlantic Ocean from northern Russia.

3. Destruction of the Defense Training
Estate.

The British Armed Forces require vast expanses of uninhabited land for live-fire combat training.

England is too densely populated to accommodate this scale of preparation and the Ministry of Defence relies heavily on the Scottish Highlands, the Sennybridge Training Area in Wales, and the Abercorn facilities in Northern Ireland for multi-domain military training exercises.

4. Loss of North Sea oil and gas.

An independent Scotland would get ownership over the vast majority of the current UK’s northern waters, with England losing direct geopolitical control over the bulk of the North Sea oil and gas reserves, as well as massive offshore wind-generation territories located in Scottish and Welsh waters.

5. The emergence of a new "Western Flank"

For over a century, the UK has operated under the assumption that its western border is entirely secure.

If Northern Ireland reunifies with the Republic of Ireland, and Scotland and Wales depart, the Irish Sea becomes entirely surrounded by foreign nations.

While a unified Ireland or independent Scotland would likely friendly Western democracies, they might opt for strict military neutrality (similar to Ireland's current geopolitical stance) rather than joining NATO.

This would create a massive security vacuum right on England's doorstep and would require London to reconfigure its military defense plans.
The mullahcracy had the swell idea of avoiding accountability for attacks on Israel. They would surround Israel with well-armed proxies to do their dirty work. Hezb’allah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, Houthis in the Red Sea, militias in Iraq and Syria, and allied forces in the West Bank. They would assert hegemony over the Middle East and choke off petro products to the world by blockading the Strait of Hormuz.

As it stands today, military action by the U.S. and Israel and economic warfare by the Treasury have nearly extinguished these fires. Iran is broke, they alone are being blockaded in the Strait with no means to earn oil revenue. Inflation is so great the rial is valueless (now over two million to the U.S. dollar). Most of its leadership is dead. Its navy has been sunk. Its radar and missile capacities are virtually nonexistent. It’s a defenseless sitting duck. Except for torturing and murdering its own citizens, it poses no real threat to anyone. It lacks allies it once assumed and is disintegrating rapidly. It is being consumed in the flames it lit.
