While Billy is probably overdoing the threads, no, people will not forget what happened January 6th. You guys don't admit to yourselves what it was because you can't. You just can't. As for drama queens, I think January 6th was a lot of drama. I think four years of Trump was a lot of drama. Nobody gets to successfully lecture me on being a drama queen again.

You name it, describe it.
Once again, do you believe that the mostly unarmed crowd that trespassed (that is what the majority of them have been charged with after a year of 'investigation') at the Capitol thought that they were going to overthrow the sitting government?
You didn't answer before so I don't believe you will answer this time.
You have been a drama queen since I became aware or you and will continue.
Most of Trump's drama was the left screeching about made up shit that they never proved.
Robert Francis O'Rourke, Democrat, White guy, spent ~78 million to defeat, Ted Cruz, Republican immigrant Dark guy and lost
But the Republicans are racist.

I've called it "an insurrection." I've also called it "violent," "terrible," "stupid," and "horrendous."
What was it if not that?

I don't know if it was an insurrection. It was violent, terrible, stupid, horrendous, wrong and criminal. Those that did that to private businesses across the country were wrong and should be held culpable. Those that did it to our Capitol were wrong and should be held culpable. And yes, the criminals that trespassed in the Capitol building should face a harsher penalty than those that did so on private property. No doubt about it. As for the woman who was killed, I would also look into felony murder charges against those who were with her at the time of the shooting, depending on their actions. I don't know if they would stick, but I would consider them. Not where I breathe, but where I love, I live...

I believe our government should be protected from intruders. Especially when Congress was sitting in session at the time. Our democracy is worth protecting and I do believe that incursions on federal property should be taken most seriously. Particularly so when it involves our highest level of leaders...so Pentagon, Capital Building, Supreme Court and White House.Originally posted by Adam View Post

Now that's an interesting proposition, from a legal perspective. As always, I think it requires looking at the thing from various angles.Originally posted by phillygirl View PostI don't know if it was an insurrection. If the same number of largely unarmed but aggressive-acting people in 1) militia uniforms, or 2) Antifa get-ups, or 3) clothing with Arabic-looking writing on it, 4) gang colors (and being apparently black or Latino, or some other indicia of anti-government affiliation had entered the same building, refused to comply with lawful orders of the police, and engaged in the same property destruction and unauthorized entry, would the fatal shooting of one of their number be used as a basis for felony murder charges? I think it probably would. Prosecutors pretty regularly bring FM charges against the accomplice of a criminal who holds up a liquor store and gets shot by police.
There's always - or should be - an issue of how close the person charged needs to be to the underlying felony to have FM culpability. In the case of the Oakland riots, for example, while we may (and I do) hold responsible the organizers of the "mostly peaceful protests" for continuing to give opportunity and cover to the felons who used those protests as stalking horses for arson, looting and the murder of at least one person (the federal security officer), I would not charge the organizers nor most of the participants with FM. However, if one of the police or federal security officers had killed one of the perpetrators of the attack on the federal security guard, I would charge all the other participants in the attack with FM."Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)
