Multiple dead, at least 8 injured in shooting at Ft. Lauderdale airport

"Multiple people" are dead and a shooting suspect is in custody Friday after gunfire erupted at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, the Broward County Sheriff said.

I'm now starting to move from 'fair trial' to 'just shoot the fuckers after you cuff them'.

Perhaps after some training in Zimbabwe they could save the bullet, cuff 'em, then use pangas.

OK, the anticipated false narrative has started. Apparently the "gun" was in his luggage (totally legal with the majority of air carriers). He got his luggage, went to a restroom, loaded up and started his rampage. This is absolutely no different than someone driving up to the arrival area getting out of their car and starting to kill people with the gun they bring. It has ZERO to do with flying with checked secured firearms.

I don't understand your point. It was a firearm in his checked luggage as opposed to a checked firearm?
              Enjoy.

His point is that checking luggage with a gun (knife, compound bow, random explosive objects when they are combined) is no different than having a gun and driving up to an airport entrance and randomly wasting people.

It's perfectly legal to fly with a gun (spear gun, compound bow, knife assortment, stuff that could explode if you assembled it in the bathroom for a minute). It's perfectly legal to drive up to an airport exit. It's illegal to main and kill people whether you get the damaging object out of your luggage or out of your trunk.

                Same difference.

I understand all of that. I was confused by his statement that "It has ZERO to do with flying with checked secured firearms."

I'm not really sure what "checked secured firearms" means, but I would think a firearm in checked luggage would be described as a "checked firearm" if not a "checked secured firearm" (maybe a trigger lock would make it secured).
                  Enjoy.

It means your firearm (combat knife, compound bow, whatever...) is checked into baggage and thus not available in-flight.

However, anybody can drive up and shoot people at the passenger pick-up. Frankly, some of us have entertained the idea during the holidays.

So it means exactly what this shooter did.

If someone drove up to passenger pick-up with a gun and started shooting people, would it make sense to say, "This has ZERO to do with driving up to passenger pick-up with a gun"?
                      Enjoy.

Banning the legal transport of secured firearms in luggage (watch for it; the demand for a law will appear any second now, if it hasn't already) will not stop someone determined to shoot a bunch of people at an airport. He would just drive up and do it.

Banning guns entirely won't stop someone bent on murdering a bunch of people. He'll just figure out how to make a bomb from common household chemicals. If a bunch of shitheads living in huts in the Middle East can make bombs, this guy could have, too.

                        Violent people cause violence.
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

It would if your object was to distinguish legally used firearms from those involved with brutal crimes.

But that's not what you are trying to get at, is it?

Don't you think that "not a single-point cause of the problem" and "has ZERO to do with" are entirely different things?

This crime has ZERO to do with the exact method by which this crime was carried out.
                            Enjoy.

Kind of too incoherent to respond to but if you rework your sentence structure, I'll be glad to answer eventually.
