    Tonight's dinner

Stir-fried Moose with Baby Bokchoy and Snap Peas.

Yes you're right. Joyce is a lucky woman. That said she did kill and butcher the Moose.

Shepherd's pie - the real deal with lamb. I did not kill the lamb personally but if I had a bunch of sheep, I would have.

      ...plated beautifully too.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

Yeah, but why is moose meat black? I thought it would look like beef.

It does look exactly like beef. It is stir fried in this case with Pearl River Mushroom Soy which is black in color.

Steak-n-Shake. My son got two interceptions and scored a touchdown. Last game of the season and it looks like he'll get Most Improved.

Leftovers! I love leftovers - no planning, shopping, defrosting, or cooking. It's like having a restaurant in your own house.

We only ate half the stir fry so it's today's lunch.

I have weirdly picky eating habits when I'm alone but I've never had time-specific foods. I'll eat soup for breakfast or eggs for dinner or whatever. If it's good at 6:00 p.m. it will be just as good at 6:00 a.m.

Same here. Joyce is more "traditionally" food minded.
