Having went to bed at 4 pm the previous afternoon, they probably had to pee by then.
    We are so fucked.

We wake up at 6-6:30am most mornings. In the summer, it could even be earlier. We never use an alarm clock to wake up unless we have an early morning flight and in that case, we would be in a hotel since the airport is an hour away.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

We're staying with our 16 year old grandson for a week while his mom is at a conference. I did bring some of his favorite grandma recipes but tonight we're going out for Italian...looking forward to cannolis. It's been great being in a bigger city because while I love to cook, I love to dine out when I feel like it and the restaurants in our little town are far and few between.
