    Team NEIP - you in?

It starts this Saturday. Go on the website and read about it. It's not about being an athlete, it's about making healthy choices for 8 weeks and hopefully incorporating those changes into the rest of your life. Not enough time to work out 10 minutes a day? You can learn that's not the case.

To do it as a team with support is a great idea. I probably should have recommended this earlier but it might be fun to form Team NEIP!!

I am already on Team Crossfit Northern Exposure but you can be a member of multiple teams. It's all about good choices and support for those choices.

Yes it cost money to sign up but what is your health worth or more importantly how much does non-optimum health cost you?

8 weeks people, what do you say?

    Anybody else up for this.......

    Okay, this sounds interesting!

I'm not uploading any picture of myself, though. If my highly superior religion doesn't forbid this kind thing, it probably ought to so I'm not doing that.

There were a lot of videos which I didn't watch because I read so much faster but the upshot seems to be the 7 daily habits. Tell me more.

Three levels ------- mostly diet related. The effort is to encourage eating clean. The "Performance Level" is mostly Paleo based. You can find the link to the foods allowed on each level.

The rest is a daily log in with points assigned or deducted for choices. Positive choices to get in exercise, stretching, etc.

The real beauty though is it helps keep you focused for a full 8 weeks. That's the idea of forming a SUPPORTIVE TEAM. Helping each other to stay the course. Joyce and I are already signed in at Performance Level and on our Crossfit Box Team but there is no limit to how many teams you are on. I thought it would be a chance for those on here to decide if they wanted to commit to making some good choices physically for 8 weeks and see where the life style change takes them.

Joyce and I are headed to Vegas for 10 days in early February so it will be a real challenge for us to stay the course but we will give it our all. I wish I had put it on here sooner so folks could have more time to consider joining but tomorrow is day 1 so it's now or never.

When you sign on there are privacy settings for things like measurements, age, PICTURES, so you don't have to share but......there is no better honesty meter than before and after pictures. Just take them for your own comparison.

Everyone best decide quickly because I'm not going to form a new "team NEIP" to be the only one on it.

OK folks, you too my red haired cyber Buddy, I have form the Team. It is called Team NEIP so WHEN you sign up just put the team name in. This is all about self improvement, not competition (other than with yourself to make positive changes). We call all use a little help when it comes to self improvement. Yes is does cost $49 but seriously, what's your health and quality of life worth.

Here's the deal. If you join and honestly do the entire 8 weeks and do not feel you got your money's worth I'll send you a check. That's on the honor system and there are more than one poster on here that can attest to my adherence to my word.

Heading into day 7 of the Whole Life Challenge. My competitive nature is not allowing me to slack at all and I've been totally clean the first 6 days, as has Joyce. We are sitting tied for 156th out of 18,000 participants worldwide.

It's been interesting so far. I find the comments and reflections offered by other participants very helpful. Amazing what negatives some folks find difficult to avoid in their lives.

Joyce has been amazing. I'm sure she thought quitting all booze would be tough for me but it isn't. I've done it before. I thought her abstinence from bread and cereal would do her in but she has persevered. Yesterday we worked out together (as we now do daily since I retired and can go at the same time) yesterday and she was a total beast. She admitted on the reflections portion of the WLC website that she thinks eating clean has given her a new energy and stamina.

I apologize to you folks for not getting the invite up sooner. I would have loved to have dome this on the same team as my cyber buddies. Maybe next time?

                Cheers

I'm still interested but honestly after reading the rules, it's just not compatible with skiing or the level of swimming I do now. Maybe in the summer when things are less intense.

I got the messages too late (no service where I was then a broken phone), but what's the $50 fee for? That seems inefficient.

$49 pays for the website which actually is pretty decent. Our team sees each others progress plus you have to comment daily as part of it and I have surprisingly learned that others are finding difficulty in aspects I am not and vice versa.

Final stats!! In 8 weeks I dropped 3% body fat, gained an inch on my chest and lost 2 on my waist and a half inch on my hips. For me it wasn't about any of that it was supporting Joyce in getting away from carbs in excess and gluten turning more to a Paleo based diet plan. She did it and stuck to her guns.

She ended up losing 8 1/2 pounds and 2% body fat. But more importantly she absolutely crushed the rerunning of the WOD as did I. She increased 69 reps in the 11 minutes while I increased 57 reps.

Joyce ended up number one in the world in our age group!!

You better believe I was shouting that. I was 4th.
