Way way back probably 30 years ago Joyce had a breast biopsy for a "lump". The pathology report was Lobular Hyperplasia bonding on carcinoma in situ. Essential abnormal cells that would become a cancer but all were removed with the biopsy/mini lumpectomy. She was told she had a 100% chance of developing breast cancer sometime i her life if she lives past 50. She's had close annual surveillance for decades now. The last few years she's gotten a reoccurrence verified by needle biopsy of Lobular Hyperplasia.
Ten years ago, as you all know, she developed Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, under went 6 rounds of R-Chop Chemo and kicked it's ass only to find out on the five year pet scan she also has Follicular Lymphoma which is incurable but so slow growing cancer you ignore it.
Now the Lobular Hyperplasia has progressed to Ductal Carcinoma, or for layman terms, breast cancer.
Appointment is Tuesday for a game plan. Before this years mammo, then MRI, then needle biopsy she said. "I should just get these things loped off. I'm tired of this game every year".
Those of you that know us also know we don't roll with pitty. Send some prayers, thoughts, or sacrifice a chicken if you wish. Another adventure is about to begin.
