    Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

We had a very moving service (went to the early one due to much experience), a great dinner, interesting conversation, and are now cleaning up.

Pro tip: When "they" say you can dye brown eggs just as well as white but need to leave them longer, "they" are wrong. The eggs will dye but to colors only enthusiastic decorators will like.

Happy Easter! Since Easter is a movable feast anyway, and HRH has been sick for the past week, we decided to move it to next weekend. Enjoying the beautiful spring weather, the church bells, and cute kids and Easter egg hunt stories on Instagram. Bonus: getting all the stuff for each other's Easter baskets at half-price.
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

That is a bonus! I am not really a sweet-tooth person but got my personal fav - Ferrero Rocher chocolates in bunny format.

This reminds me, we had white cake with amaretto cherries and vanilla ice cream for dessert.

      Exquisite!

You can boil eggs correctly or boil them too much. They will not taste the same and the consistency will be different.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

Living so high, I just use a Cuisinart Egg Cooker now. Perfect eggs every time - no guessing.

I eat like one Peep per year, if that but I eat dozens of hard cooked eggs.

Put enough mayonnaise or butter on them and they'll all be fine.

Agree. I bought one years ago and it's one of the best gadgets I've ever had. Soft, hard or poached, we love boiled eggs, too.

Yes, because starving is the natural progression from not knowing how to boil an egg correctly.

Mr. Snaps gave it to me as a minor Christmas present a few years ago and I studiously ignored it (he's not good on gift giving unless specifically directed). It was on sale and he had a coupon so it was basically like $5.00 bucks.

When I finally tried it, I was astonished.

Perfect hard cooked eggs every single time. Perfect soft eggs. Perfect poached eggs.

I have a lot of kitchen gadgets because I cook constantly and often for 10 or more but this gadget is by far one of the most useful daily things I've ever used.

                          By daily/weekly rating:

                          Egg cooker
                          Instant Pot
                          Fire

I'm with you. I use and adore my IP but despite the button and directions. I cannot make decent rice in it to save my soul. Dog rice, yes.

I use my old school rice cooker which works perfectly but hoping to upgrade to a fuzzy logic Japanese rice cooker this summer. No real real reason aside from me already having a lot of nice jewelry.

I have tried it maybe 10 or 12 times but just can't make it work. I thought it was the altitude but if you can't do it, maybe we're both just rice snobs.
