    Guilty Pleasures

I am off work today so I'm painting up some more models for the game convention in Chicago next month. Listening to some music as I usually do while painting, and the music got me thinking about what guilty pleasures I enjoy, because the music I listen to is pretty lame to other people, but I love it. Because I have a great interest in military history I listen to a lot of Sabaton and battles and history and shit is pretty much all they write songs about. Their lyrics aren't great, the music isn't that complex, but there have probably been 30 songs of theirs that I have listened to and thought "Hmmm, I don't know anything about what they are talking about in this song," and then I'll go research it to learn. So it's like music and education rolled up into one for me.

Anyway, I'll post a couple of Sabaton videos, but what are some guilty pleasures you have? Bok, you can just leave out your secret life as a Furry. Everybody already knows.

Here is one for all you Catholics:

And here is one about the Siege of Vienna that some guy made using some footage from a Polish movie (which I also own):

FailArmy is my favorite guilty pleasure. It annoys my girlfriend sometimes.

Binge reading cop novels or Robyn Carr.
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

Without any doubt, Forged in Fire is my guilty pleasure. I want a ringtone of Doug Marcaida saying "it will keel" for my phone.
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

I don't think I have any guilty pleasures. I don't feel any guilt about any of them.

I like Sabaton, too, Hondo. So far as I know, they're the only band of any genre that sings about historical battles. It's a very niche subject.

Bye bye Butterfly at about 50' cracked me up

It reminded me of a sea lion painstakingly rescued from the Exxon Valdize oil spill. It was released on a beach to great fanfare, cameras and crowds. It swam away to cheers and applause, and was promptly eaten by an orca whale, who contrary to etiquette, like to play with their food before they eat it.

Oddly enough I can't find that video now.

The music doesn't do much for me. But someone on this forum, probably Frostbit, introduced me to "Roots of Stone," now one of my favorites. I canNOT convince any bandmates to tackle that song.

I usually prefer live. It's full of revelations,

but it's usually imperfect. The best they did was the studio version:
