20-Year-Old Woman Claims She Is A Cat Born In The Wrong Body

Wonder who is enabling this behavior. Does she strictly eat cat food?

A woman in Norway claims that she is a cat trapped in a human's body. The 20-year-old says she first realized she was a cat when she was 16.

She should have surgery so that she has whiskers and a tail.
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

She seems to be able to hold down a job, and she has friends.

        Who cares what she believes?

15 minutes of fame or lives in a fantasy world. I know an adult who does the fantasy world dress up thing but they keep it to themselves.

If she really wanted to be a cat, there are things she could do.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

Instant notoriety is the real problem here, if there's a problem at all. Most people who are simply seeking attention, however desperately, go away if ignored.

There have always been people with odd or delusional perceptions. They either kept them to themselves (in a time when conformity was valued above individuality), or they were known locally, in my grandfather's words, as "a mite quarr." As in, "Aunt Sarry's a mite quarr, but she don't hurt nobody."

Every time someone posts a comment about someone like this, that person, whether delusional or merely attention-seeking, gets positive reinforcement. Even negative comments are positive reinforcement, because they signify attention or validation or both.

Having known a plethora of odd characters while I was growing up in our very small town, I truly doubt the per capita number of weirdos and nutcases has increased significantly; we just know more about them.
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

Why can't she just get ass implants and lip injections like a normal person?
              Enjoy.

This is a delusion no different from believing that one is a famous person or a devil or a woman in a man's body.

The problem with jollying along delusions is that they become more entrenched and the victim (now) demands social agreement.

This is different from Aunt Sally being a mite queer. Aunt Sally wouldn't have hired a lawyer to enforce her view on others. If we accept that genetic men can compete in women's Olympic sports or that people with no gender must be addressed by non-English pronouns that only they know, we will eventually have to accept that people are cats or ponies or whatever and bend society to that end.

Recognizing it all as delusional will speed up effective therapies.
