    Mayor of Kingstown

Random thought because I'm up much too late, but I absolutely freaking LOVE this show. It's gritty, dirty, and VERY intense, but the cinematography and the character development are freaking fantastic. If you haven't seen it, get on Paramount+ and watch it. Definitely not for kids: nudity and bad language is involved, along with severe graphic violence. But it is, in a lot of ways, very much like Ozark, except in a fictional suburban Detroit.
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now

    If so I will pass.
I started watching Ozark and immediately was turned off by authenticity problems. I remember seeing a shot with a sign about U. E. Union Electric which produces electricity from the dam at Lake of the Ozarks. UE was renamed Ameren over 15(?) years ago. Why include that? Did no one do research?
Then we have a 'hillbilly redneck' family supposedly raising millions of dollars growing opium poppies, in the hills around the lake, and producing heroin. The amount of ground planted with opium poppies needed to produce millions of dollars is so huge it would be impossible to miss.
I can take story lines that have flaws, but when they move from minor to OMG I lose any interest.

Robert Francis O'Rourke, Democrat, White guy, spent ~78 million to defeat, Ted Cruz, Republican immigrant Dark guy and lost
    But the Republicans are racist.

I didn't really mean it in that fashion. I just meant that it's got this very dark story line with deeply complex characters, and that the whole plotline is sort of gritty and dirty, not "sanitized for television" like what you get on NBC or whatever, and has some really intense scenes and plot-twists. I will admit that I have managed to catch "Mayor of Kingstown" in two very brief continuity errors (it's filmed in Canada): one was an incorrect exit sign in a bar (used the European-standard green with a person running to the door pictograph) and another was a brief glimpse of a billboard for a cell phone company that operates in Europe and Canada, but not the U.S. (can't remember which one now, but it stuck out to me).

Anyway, the story line in Ozark is all more about laundering money through this floating casino, so some outside inconsistency just wouldn't really stick with me. I don't specifically remember anything about anyone getting rich off of just planting poppies in the hills, but I could be totally wrong on that.

It was prominent in the story line.

I have started Mayor, but it pissed me off when they killed Kyle Chandler at the get go.
