      Okay, a chat.

Those who push these untested cures, hydroxychloroquine before and now ivermectin, do so out of some mass hysteria brought on by deliberate misinformation, ignorance, and cynical political manipulation. You cannot reason with people who willfully eschew reason. I do not know what to do about it.

And to be honest, I never thought taking the Smallpox or Polio vaccines made me or anyone else that took them "sheep." The fact that it is a part of the conversation, that you would say that even if ironically, should be an indication to you how unbelievably stupid this is.

I believe the vaccine regime are between 30-40 dollars for the 2 dose and 10 for the J&J. I spend more than that in 3 months on one dog for heart worm medicine.

The people who recover, no matter what substances utilized, develop antibodies naturally, therefore vaccination would not be necessary, unless you had some goal you wished to parade for public consumption.
If everyone contracted and recovered there is no need for a vaccination to produce antibodies.

Thanks for the insight. Makes sense. I guess the issue is the numbers, though. Are enough people recovering of the sample? As I said, I don’t know specifics. But you have given another reason to look further into treatmeant and not just prevention, especially since prevention is not guaranteed at this point (although apparently the vaccine is helping to make the course of Covid less lethal for those infected).

We need a comprehensive study to see what treatments are most effective.
The problem is, the horsecatdog compound treatment holds very little profit.
As noted Big Pharma is working on treatments that are patentable.

Yes, I said sheep ironically. I'm aware there are people in the "you're a sheep" camp and others in the "you're murdering us all" camp. I tend to be a bit more moderated in my views in all of this.

I have no idea if ivermectin is a valid treatment or not. It took me until today to even realize the "horse dewormer" memes were talking about this. I tend to not pay a lot of attention anymore to a lot of this hoopla.

Conclusions: Moderate-certainty evidence finds that large reductions in COVID-19 deaths are possible using ivermectin. Using ivermectin early in the clinical course may reduce numbers progressing to severe disease. The apparent safety and low cost suggest that ivermectin is likely to have a significant impact on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic globally.

Misinformation, ignorance, and cynical political manipulation indeed.

In September, Harris, then the Democratic Party’s vice-presidential candidate, hesitated when asked if she would take a vaccine that was approved before the election.

“I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump,” Harris said, “and it would have to be a credible source of information that talks about the efficacy and the reliability of whatever he’s talking about. I will not take his word for it.”

Cuomo went further, suggesting he mistrusted not just President Donald Trump, but also the Food and Drug Administration under Trump. Asked about his confidence in the FDA, Cuomo indicated he didn’t have much.

“I’m not that confident,” Cuomo said, adding: “You’re going to say to the American people now, ‘Here’s a vaccine, it was new, it was done quickly, but trust this federal administration and their health administration that it’s safe? And we’re not 100 percent sure of the consequences.’ I think it’s going to be a very skeptical American public about taking the vaccine, and they should be.”

Cuomo later announced that New York would conduct its own review of the vaccines, because, “Frankly, I’m not going to trust the federal government’s opinion, and I wouldn’t recommend [it] to New Yorkers, based on the federal government’s opinion.”
