    Current reading list

I can't find the old thread about what people are reading.

I just finished the latest Chief Inspector Gamache novel from Louise Penny, The Black Wolf. Either the premise of the novels has run its course, or she is wandering into tinfoil hat territory personally. I usually can't put one of her books down. This one, I could only tolerate in bite-sized pieces, and I read another entire book in between.
"Since the historic ruling, the Lovings have become icons for equality. Mildred released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the ruling in 2007: 'I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, Black or white, young or old, gay or straight, seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

Like some watch the Academy Award nominees for best picture, I read the nominees for the Hugo Award for best novel.

I put aside my spy and navy seal versus terrorists books fur a bit. Current “read” (I mostly do audible bc of my long commute) is Catherine Grants Welcome to the Family. It’s a thriller. So far so good. Right as I was getting a little bored there was a twist at the halfway point and part two has me captivated.

Enjoying Margaret Atwood's memoir. It's like having a chance to go back and talk to the old folks in my family. I think we grew up together, hundreds of miles apart.
