The country wins if we establish that no one is above the law and that the chief executive cannot quash by edict any investigation that makes him or his friends uncomfortable. Rudy's job in this interview is to build support in the "court of public opinion" for Trump to fire Mueller (who was appointed because Trump fired Comey). If he is successful in establishing that a president is free to kill any investigation that threatens the president, that is not a win for the country. Nixon tried it, but Nixon didn't build up a lot of public support first. Nixon didn't demonize the DoJ and the news media to the extent that this administration is attempting.Comment
