That's the number of illegal crossing apprehensions the last three months. Care to dispute that this is not a crisis? Apparently Congress is more concerned with RESIST RESIST RESIST.
I think the largest part are job-seekers knowing that we have more jobs than workers! Such is the pain of a great economy.
And who's responsible for this economy? Obama!1!! The immigration crisis is Obama's fault.

The crisis is of Donald Trump's own doing, not that you people will ever admit that. The majority of growth in apprehensions is family units, and it's clear that the rise is due to the rhetoric from the president about threatening to close the border and send people back home without ever entering the US. It has led to a panic for families wanting to flee Central America, so they are flooding in before the gates come crashing down.
Prior to January, the numbers are slightly elevated, but not any higher than they were back in 2000.
As far as I can tell, it only started to become a crisis at the start of this year. So that was one full year of fearmongering and hatred for the brown people from the president when illegal levels were not that bad.
Unless there's some new civil war in Nicaragua I'm not familiar with, there can be no other explanation for the sudden rise of families trying to get in.

Dang. Totally spoken like a man who pays no taxes. Explaination? Exploitation of children who Americans are supposed to house, clothe, feed and educate.
Are American schools supposed to routinely now be only for Spanish speakers?
Are they really families? Or just mule children so adults can get in...………….
Trump’s first few months in office set records for how few people were caught trying to enter the US from Mexico, something he continued to brag about even as apprehension levels began to rise again in summer and fall 2017. (The claim made by Trump critics that unauthorized migration is at “historic lows†is based on the fact that yearly apprehension rates are still low in comparison to the pre-recession era, but apprehensions have been rising pretty much every month since April 2017.) And building on a trend that had become noticeable since the border crisis of summer 2014, the people who were coming were unaccompanied children and, increasingly, families.
By September 2018, DHS officials were raising alarms about the number of children and families coming into the US, and warning that the system was overwhelmed. Apprehensions continued to climb through the fall. Then in February, they skyrocketed.
The rapid increase from the beginning of 2019 to now still isn’t fully understood. It appears to stem from a shift in smuggling tactics and capacity. (While human smuggling is illegal, it’s used by asylum seekers who feel they have no other choice as well as people migrating for economic reasons.)
The rise of “express route†buses that can take hundreds of migrants at a time through Mexico in five or six days appears to be a factor. Many migrants who might have felt the chance of arriving in the US wasn’t worth the risks of a grueling and dangerous journey on foot through Mexico may be changing their calculus now that the risk is lower. Similarly, anecdotal reports indicate that smugglers are offering discounts for migrants who bring their children.
The Mexican government wasn’t prepared for how many Central Americans would seek the visas, and shut down the program rapidly. But American officials suspect the humanitarian visas made it much easier for Central Americans already in Mexico to come to the US, and may have influenced more to come.

Just exactly what color is the sky on your planet?
It's been ten years since that lonely day I left you
In the morning rain, smoking gun in hand
Ten lonely years but how my heart, it still remembers
Pray for me, momma, I'm a gypsy now
Irineo Mujica, the director of Pueblo Sin Fronteras, an activist group that has helped several large caravans of Central American migrants cross Mexico and reach the United States, was arrested in the northern border city of Sonoyta and charged with illegally transporting migrants. Another activist who has worked with caravans, Cristobal Sanchez, was arrested near the southern border and charged with smuggling migrants into Mexico.
Mexico’s finance ministry announced it had blocked the bank accounts of 26 people who had participated “in the trafficking of migrants and the illegal organization of migrant caravans.â€
Robert Francis O'Rourke, Democrat, White guy, spent ~78 million to defeat, Ted Cruz, Republican immigrant Dark guy and lost
But the Republicans are racist.

I think it's been a crisis since last year due to ripping people from their parents, placing them elsewhere, and then not being able to find the kids later.

By "last year," you apparently mean 2010. Note that the present year is actually 2019.

Not caring. If kids and parents want to stay together they can stop crossing our borders. Otherwise the kids can cry and cry about getting food to eat and shelter they have never had before.
They can blame their own parents who used them to get across the AMERICAN BORDER ILLEGALLY.
