Do Republicans no longer care about the Economy?

It appears that the social conservative wing the the Republican party is getting louder. They are against Trump because he's a liberal, against Rubio because he's a go along to get along Republican, and are against Kasich because 22% of some set of gun rights activists don't like him.

Why isn't the Economy center stage anymore? Is it because Republicans are probably going to win this and the GOP has no plan for prosperity?

I thought Trump was the big recipient of the social conservatives this time around because it's all about anger?
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

It appears the hot issues are immigration and lose of jobs to immigrants. If I'm a candidate, I take my lead from the public, as I should.

I think the polling data is off.

Social conservatives are really going after Trump.

Or maybe it's because the economy is actually doing much better than the public perceives? I mean, it ain't grand like it was before the housing bubble, but it's recovered significantly and is no longer the driving factor for woe. (It helps to emphasize that last word like Joey on Blossom.)

My viewpoint could be skewed, however, due to the booming economy of my particular region, which is being driven by strong growth in the tourism industries (including construction) and the halo effect of Airbus and Austal in Mobile.

If the polls show him in the lead with the social conservative vote, where are the ones that are going after him? And, if the polls don't reflect that, what are you going on? I'm sure there are some that have criticized Trump but there's not one poll that I've seen that reflects there is a majority doing it. Also, the exit polls from SC showed terrorism was the #1 concern followed by the economy and government spending.

Here's a Gallop poll taken around the first of the month and the economy is right up there.

I suppose my perception is from reading and hearing too many Cruz and Rubio worshipers.
