2020 Election Prediction (Subject to Change)

Top Line: Biden/Harris win the presidency with Democrats taking the House and the Senate.

Same as 2016 except Biden flips WI, PA, MI, AZ, FL, NC, and NE2. 334 to 204 in the Electoral College and Trump loses by 9 points in the popular vote.

Democrats pick up 5-10 seats in the House.

Democrats lose AL and win AZ, CO, ME, NC, and IA in the Senate.

My wild card long shot - Democrats take the Texas House of Representatives.

The DOW has already baked in a Biden win.

As long as we are predicting...

Should Biden win, either voluntarily or the 25th Amendment route, Harris will be the President before the end on 2021.
          We are so fucked.

Yep. AZ, a highly contested state, we're told, Sen. McSally sure to lose; and this a joint appearance by the head of the Democratic ticket.

                        It's hard to figure.

Pence jogs to Florida and gets a 30,000 car parade.

Yet the media and its acolytes are convinced (they say) Biden has it in the bag, House and Senate, too, running away. A giant landslide.

You'd think to yourself, One of these landslides isn't going to happen. And that's true enough.

But this morning's local paper here, the Herald-Tribune (or Hate-Trump for short) lead with a story about a record number of mail-in ballots perhaps getting tossed. (Rejected ballots could sway election — probable pay wall, but there's nothing uniquely interesting about this particular report.)

And it's true that amazing numbers of mail-in ballots in other recent elections have been tossed.

Ostensibly this might cost the Democrats, since they pushed so hard (until recently) for mail-in because of safety of course. Unfortunately and ironically, to cheat is easier with mail-in ballots, but to do it right is harder.

It's hard to see how people unable to get a "government I.D." to vote can nevertheless negotiate a page of rules about mailing in one's ballot.

So I see the H-T report as a clear attempt to prepare the ground for massive lawsuits all aimed at suspending the rules.

                          Because racist, of course.

Reports are that young people are not enthusiastic enough to vote in this election. A huge blow for Biden, if true.

I didn't see coverage of the 30,000 car Cuban-American (Latinos for Trump) parade in the Herald-Trib, but I saw that on Sunday half the first page of the second section, above the fold, was given to a 300 golf cart parade:

In deep-red Villages, a blue cry of 'Biden'
Sara Branscome’s golf cart whizzed down the smooth asphalt path that winds through The Villages, the nation’s largest retirement community, an expanse of beautiful homes, shops and entertainment venues that bills itself as “Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.”

Branscome’s cart was festooned with two American flags that flapped in the warm afternoon breeze. A line of oncoming carts bedecked with balloons and patriotic streamers chugged past while honking. Branscome jabbed her left foot on the horn pedal, then gave a thumbs-up.

“This gets you rejuvenated and ready for the next month or so, so we can do this and win. It gives you hope,” the 60-year-old retiree said.
[The headline is the Herald-Trib's, the link here is to an AP site with the article.]

                              2000.jpeg

Most of these oldsters have been fed a diet of panic porn about the virus.

“The whole virus thing has hit really hard here,” said Branscome, who pointed out that almost everyone in The Villages moved there from somewhere else. “We can’t go see our families because of COVID. I’m not seeing an end to it. There is no plan. Biden has a plan. He wears a mask. It gives us hope.”
They're wetting their Depends over this. To Ms Branscome I'd say, Just get the hell up and go see your damn family.

In recent weeks, Morrill watched as Trump announced he was infected with COVID-19, left the hospital days later and dramatically removed his mask upon his return to the White House.

                              She seethed.

“I was angry,” she said, her voice shaking. “He’s showing a bad example. He thinks that nothing’s going to affect him. It feels like one lie after another.”
A lie like this one? (pictured in the article)

                              2000.jpeg

All the Biden supporters, of course, wear masks. (Look closely and you'll see a lot of noses hanging out.) Someday I'll see an article about "mask mouth runs rampant in the Villages." Maybe not: there are plenty of Trump supporters who tend not to wear masks when it's not necessary.

                              2000.jpeg

Yet the biggest clutch of Biden supporters I know are the super old people who are terrified of the virus. The Democratic Panic Peddlers have got them by the short hairs. Shopping at the supermarket is like venturing onto the set of a Zombie Apocalypse remake, all are silent, masked up, slowly and haltingly attending their business aisle to aisle.

I guess I should be happy that the year 2020 is as mortal as the rest of us.
