Your first bolded assumption would be incorrect. Regarding the second bolded statement, if that were the case, I would submit that I should have never have been allowed into nursing school in 1981 and there were instructors I had that believed so. In your opinion, based on your acute logical realism, am I less of a man to you for entering nursing instead of slinging cinder blocks?

Back to the Chilean Swat team members in the competition. Do you anything more about them other than your cherry picked youtube clip? Yes or no?

Except when it comes to snipers (we don't have enough of them), linguists, CIA covert assets, diplomats, medicine, and quite a few others where women are a net positive.

Rather than having an "open it up" mentality why not do a "close if off" mentality? The vast majority of tasks and functions can be done equally well by men and women as long as the skillset and physical strength standards are the same. There are very few jobs women probably shouldn't do - infantry, tactical recon, etc. There are LOTS of jobs that were previously considered to be unfit for women where the mission/business/enterprise actually benefits from having a balance of both men and women. Software development and engineering come to mind, and definitely interrogation.

My early example of the female firefighters working out in our gym is a good example. They have the job, not to fill a quota or make a photo op, but because they out performed the other men scoring below them in the entrance exams both mental and physical.

That said, in the isolated case of the Chilean Female Swat team sent to the UAE competition, their poor showing did have some roots in the DEI philosophy of the present Chilean leaders upon further review though I doubt Mark actually researched the topic to know this.

Were I the author of Mark's statement, "Just because a few women can do something, does not mean that you open it up in the cause of diversity," I would say the qualifier "in the cause of diversity" matters. It's putting the result, "diversity," ahead of merit.

It's the flip side and equally faulty side of the bad old days, when avenues were closed to people despite ability. We have an exceedingly difficult time letting talent speak for itself.

Whatever the area, one should "open it up" in the cause of merit, not in the cause of ceiling-breaking.

I can't believe it's immoral to recognize and celebrate unusual circumstances, such as the "oldest person to scale Mt. Everest," but we tend to make unusual circumstances the criteria, which is a mistake, because we look for the celebration, the affirmation of our choice, first and foremost. Mayor Adams' celebration of "chocolate" leadership is an example of this. So is Old Joe setting the celebration of ceiling-breaking in his choice of running mate ahead of substance.

The latter example there is fast coming to a head, giving the Democratic Party a migraine of historic proportions.
          • "I'm a hell of a lot smarter than most of you guys." — Joe Biden, at Jesse Jackson's funeral, March 2026.
          • "That's all I do in my life. I make deals. I'm really good at it." — President Donald Trump, Oct. 13, 2025.
          • “Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out,” — David Horowitz.
          • "We [Democrats] are all willing to work with anyone who is serious about doing the work of censoring the American people, and advancing progress." — Ayanna Pressley, explaining progressives.
          • "Florida is where Woke goes to die." — Ron DeSantis.
          • "No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence." — Nancy Pelosi, explaining Lawfare.
          • “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”— Ben Franklin, who got it right.
          • "The way I see it, there's always, c'mon, there's always money. It's there." — Elizabeth Warren, explaining socialism.
          • "The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn't originally a climate thing at all.... We really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing." — Saikat Chakrabarti, then AOC's Chief of Staff.

My assumption is 100% correct. Sorry if that bothers you. As for you being a nurse, were you capable of doing the job? That is all that matters.

As for the SWAT team, what does it matter? Are they capable of doing the job?

You know what I know? That the great majority of women simply cannot do some of these jobs. Why would you deny this reality?

But it was an assumption nonetheless. If your assumption bothered me as you ASSUME I would not have pointed out that the Chilean female swat team fielded in the UAE comp was indeed the result of DEI practices.
