    Hillary

I'm not voting for her. Are you? Why?
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

Well, I thought I'd state the obvious first.

Unless a dark horse candidate appears, I may actually sit this one out.

If Sanders got the nod, I would vote for him, because his own party would put the brakes on anything too other-worldly. I'm not at all confident they could control Clinton.

I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving, and loving, are all about.'." - Mildred Loving (Loving v. Virginia)

As near as I can tell, no one has said who they are voting for.

True, but the Democrats are running him, so if he gets elected, that's the party that will have some control over him.

A friend with a lot of experience in government (a lot!) has talked to me about the need for either a Sanders or Trump win. Either way, one of those two would dismantle the current system (I think she said blow it up!) and that's about the best we can hope for. Anyone else will continue the same old same old with the same incompetents running around. I can't say I disagree with her assessment.

I confess that I like the idea of a true outsider being in charge even if it's Sanders but I just don't see Sanders doing anything substantial that is good. He's honest, but he's also a socialist and the incremental walk to socialism is a large part of what has gotten us into this mess in the first place.

We used to recover from recessions and now we don't. Now it's only a small slice that happens to be lucky (internet) or connected (GM, UAW, defense, and financial speculators) that recover from recessions. The 2002-2007 Bush years were good but they weren't great. The economy was booming but it was very narrowly realized except in terms of generally doing okay. 1993-2000 was a true boom, but again only truly realized by people lucky enough to be in the right jobs. Overall the economy did well and it was a rising tide and lifted almost all boats. Better, but nothing like the post WWII era.

We've crept into a cycle of command economy policies on both sides of the aisle and instead of trying to foster an environment for growth the Beltway wonks are micromanaging things to make the appearance of success without any sight to broader well-being.

I don't see Bernie doing anything to abate that, so he's worse than Hillary.
