I'm pretty far from being a Democrat and I'm a potential Jim Webb voter."Faith is nothing but a firm assent of the mind : which, if it be regulated, as is our duty, cannot be afforded to anything but upon good reason, and so cannot be opposite to it."

You have it backward. It shows the center resides in the Democratic Party.Originally posted by scott View PostThat comment indicates what most Democrats deny, that they have moved very far to the left. Webb has never been a Republican. He endorsed Bob Kerrey in 1992, campaigned for Robb in 1994, and defeated George Allen in 2006.
Why am I talking to you about this as if you are anything but a nihilist? You just hate government and human progress. Burn it all down, right? I must agree. It is too soon to tell if the D primary season will weaken the blue wall but it will definitely increase the Red Edge at least marginally. A net R pick-up is highly unlikely even with the Ds doing a rerun of the McGovern campaign only winning this time but it is a possible outcome. The opposition research ads almost write themselves if this goes on as anything but mop-up after March 31st.Originally posted by Celeste Chalfonte View PostNot watching tonight (I just got home from work and I have a nasty cold. I can't take being buried horseshit as well.) But from what I've read, you're right about Webb. And I don't know. Massachusetts and metropolitan California are the whole Democratic party.I was in a CCW class last week with a whole bunch of suburban CA Democrats who can't stand DiFi and Kamala Harris. They looked like potential Webb voters to me.

Okay magic 8 ball; which states? I'll give you Florida, that was close. What else. I want to see the electoral math. Show your work.Originally posted by william the wierd View PostI must agree. True but that was a given. Except on the left coast and the Washington Boston echo chamber this debate was a disaster for the Democratic party, how big is yet to be seen.Originally posted by Newman View PostI completely agree.
The search is always on for gaffs and daggers. I think her "No." was sort of a Donald Trump moment to the Democratic faithful. I heard no gaffs, but for her Kerryesque "I didn't make up my mind about Keystone until I made up my mind...." (Or is that the ghost of Yogi Berra speaking?)
A show like this is about style and impressions. She was unflapped. They all rallied about dismissing concerns about scandal.
Bernie may have excited his base, but Hillary asserted her dominance.

Obviously it doesn't, you just called him a Republican.Originally posted by Billy Jingo View PostYou have it backward. It shows the center resides in the Democratic Party.
You've been saying that for almost 10 years and I've never said that. I've articulated my position on strong government oversight instead of government micromanagement. I've articulated my position on nationalizing certain key sectors of our economy instead of entire industries. I've articulated my position on a strong government funded safety net that is efficient and effective instead of being bloated and furthering the cycle of dependency.Originally posted by Billy Jingo View PostWhy am I talking to you about this as if you are anything but a nihilist? You don't read well. You put letters together and then make up your own definitions of the words if they are spoken by someone you don't like."Faith is nothing but a firm assent of the mind : which, if it be regulated, as is our duty, cannot be afforded to anything but upon good reason, and so cannot be opposite to it."

She is a democrat of the left coast where annual fires, floods and quakes are the rule not the exception and she thinks that is a smart move. And you expect what out of her?Originally posted by scott View PostObviously it doesn't, you just called him a Republican.

you may have noticed, but she has not, that my interest in politics is strictly limited to my own economic interests. She assumes too much. Having a D inaugeration year ending in 7 generates more revenue for me. So, I would like to see that but Hillary seems too incompetent to deliver on such a gimme.Last edited by william the wierd; Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 2:27 AM.
